Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Brown Pig LLC (“StoryVault,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use StoryVault, a private home for your family’s stories, photos, and voices, and its keepsake store. StoryVault is designed to keep your family’s memories private to your family.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — such as your name and email address when you create an account.
- Family content you add — names, relationships, birthdays, photos, written stories, and voice recordings you or your relatives contribute to a vault.
- Contact details for reminders — an email address and/or mobile phone number, if you choose to provide them for weekly story reminders or notifications.
- Order and shipping information — when you buy a keepsake, the shipping address, name, and phone number you provide at checkout, and the details of the item ordered.
- Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation and limited details (such as the amount and the last four digits of a card) but we do not collect or store your full card number.
- Usage and device data — basic technical information such as log data and general analytics needed to operate and secure the Service.
2. How we use information
- to provide the Service — hosting your vault, displaying content to your family, and building your family tree and book;
- to fulfill keepsake orders — compositing your photo and text, and sending the order to our print partner for production and shipping;
- to process payments and prevent fraud;
- to send reminders, notifications, and service messages you’ve asked for;
- to provide support, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:
- Your family vault — content you add is visible to others who have access to that vault.
- Service providers — Stripe (payments), Printify (keepsake printing and shipping), and our hosting, database, file-storage, email, and text-message providers, who process data on our behalf to deliver the Service.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or the public.
- Business transfers — if StoryVault is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
4. Text messages (SMS)
If you provide a mobile number, you consent to receive optional text messages such as weekly story reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and reply HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not remove you from the Service. We do not share your mobile number with third parties for their own marketing.
5. Children’s privacy
StoryVault is intended for use by adults (18+) to preserve family history. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create their own accounts or knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13. A parent or legal guardian may choose to include information about their own children within a private family vault; by doing so, that adult is responsible for that content and confirms they have the right to add it. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us at support@chimaura.com and we will delete it.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as your account and vault are active, or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal, accounting, or fulfillment obligations (for example, keeping order records). You can request a copy of your family’s data or ask us to delete your account and its content by contacting us at support@chimaura.com. Some records may be retained where required by law or to complete an order already in progress.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including private, access-controlled storage for photos and recordings. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please also keep your account credentials and vault access code private.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and individuals in the EEA/UK (GDPR) may have additional rights. To exercise any of these, contact us at support@chimaura.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Cookies
We use only the cookies and similar technologies necessary to keep you signed in, remember your vault access, and keep the Service secure. We do not use them for third-party advertising.
10. International users
We operate in the United States, and your information may be processed there and in other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you of material changes.
