Terms of Service
Last updated: August 4, 2026
StoryVault is operated by Brown Pig LLC (“StoryVault,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Chimaura product. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the StoryVault website, applications, and services (together, the “Service”), including any keepsakes or digital products you purchase. By creating an account, entering a family vault, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a purchase. You may add information about family members, including children, only if you are their parent or legal guardian, or you otherwise have the right and any necessary consent to do so. By adding another person’s name, photo, voice, or story, you confirm you have the authority to share it with your family vault.
2. Your account and family vault
A family vault is private and protected by a link and an access code. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and your vault’s access code secure, and for the activity of people you invite or share the code with. Tell us promptly if you believe your account or vault has been accessed without authorization. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, stories, voice recordings, names, and other content you add (“Your Content”). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, reproduce, adapt, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you and your family vault — including, when you place an order, to reproduce it on a physical keepsake through our print partner. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must retain to complete an order already in progress or as required by law.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- upload content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or that violates another person’s privacy or rights;
- share another person’s private information without their consent;
- upload content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits any child, or that is otherwise abusive or harmful;
- attempt to access vaults, accounts, or data that are not yours, or interfere with the Service’s security;
- resell, scrape, or misuse the Service or its content.
We may remove content or suspend access that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or the law.
5. Keepsakes and orders
StoryVault lets you order personalized, made-to-order keepsakes (such as apparel, mugs, tote bags, and ornaments) that are printed and shipped by our third-party print-on-demand partner, Printify. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card details. Prices, product options, and shipping charges are shown before you pay. You are responsible for the photo, text, and options you submit for a keepsake. Because keepsakes are custom-made for you, cancellations, returns, and refunds are governed by our Refunds & Shipping policy.
6. Digital products
Some features, such as unlocking a downloadable family book, are one-time digital purchases. Refunds for digital products are addressed in our Refunds & Shipping policy.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties including Stripe (payments), Printify (keepsake printing and fulfillment), and our hosting, storage, email, and text-message providers. Your use of features that involve these providers may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third parties.
8. Our intellectual property
The StoryVault name, logo, software, and design are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our marks without our permission.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licenses needed to complete orders, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” While we work hard to keep your family’s memories safe, we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will never be lost. We recommend keeping your own copies of irreplaceable photos and recordings.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StoryVault and its owners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service or a purchase will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or (for a keepsake order) the amount you paid for that order.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold StoryVault harmless from claims arising out of Your Content or your misuse of the Service, including claims that Your Content infringes a third party’s rights or was shared without proper consent.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
